There’s Nothing Quite Like Family

While we Trachtenbergs are busy eating our way across America (coming soon: Family Reunion T-Shirt art!), I thought it might be about time to write about my family.

The Trachtenbergs are an amazing group. All descended from six sisters, we’ve got an eclectic group all connected by blood. And really, that’s all that matters. None of us have Trachtenberg as a last name (after all, Grandpa T only had daughters), but we’re all Kin of the Umbrella anyways. Family is family, no matter what. Point of fact, we’re putting one of the T cousins in touch with some of my cousins from Dad’s side because she’ll be going to ASU, where the other cousins already have attended for several years.

I was the youngest at this weekend. The other young ones weren’t here for various reasons. It also made me the only one of my generation. That isn’t much of an accomplishment as there are only four of us (despite the fact that the extended family includes… oh, it must be almost fifty by now).

Mom’s collapsed on the couch tonight. I don’t know if she’ll make it into the little bedroom area. The hotel’s been nice—it’s a suite hotel. Very comfortable. But for now, I ought to sleep, as we’ll be heading back home tomorrow. Ah, plane rides. How I dislike them. I’ll have to write up a more thorough summary of the trip tomorrow once I’m home.
